Spring Break, Reindeer Farm, Birthday Boy

Last week it was spring break. Ummmm ya. Spring Break. What's wrong with this picture? Your eyes tend to play tricks on you here. You look outside, see the beautiful, clear blue sky and think that you're gonna go outside and feel all warm and fuzzy. FALSE. One day it looked warm enough to take the kids on a walk. Look how much snow is on the ground still. They were freezing by the time we returned home. When they say Alaska has long winters, they really do mean it.
Saturday we took the kids to a Reindeer Farm. It was a little redneck, but Paisley had a blast and that's all that matters. I've been homesick, but being on a farm made me even more homesick. We took the kids on a hayride and the smell of poop and the sight of a tractor made me want to be back on the farm I grew up on. Paisley had a BLAST feeding the reindeer. She is so fearless, even let one kiss her and giggled the whole time they were in her presence. She really loved her pony ride. I think the favorite part of her day was winning a lollipop and a pair of sunglasses.
Sunday was my boy McKoy's birthday. One year old. I can't believe it. Where has the past year gone? It was a good day. They both have been under the weather and not eating well, but they sure didn't hold back from the birthday cake. He ended up throwing it up during the night, but at least He enjoyed it in the moment.

I sure love my Thor. Happy Birthday little man.
